Public Safety & Accountability

Joy Styles believes that public safety is a priority, not an option. Upholding the highest standards of accountability and transparency in government is critical to Nashville's future success. She believes that open communication is essential for building trust with the community. Joy is dedicated to serving the public with integrity and providing high quality safety measures.

Creative Community

As the only council member who has been a full time artist, Joy is a strong advocate for the arts in Nashville. She believes that a vibrant arts scene enriches our community, stimulates creativity, and drives economic growth. Her passion led her to sponsor the creation of the Nashville Entertainment Commission in 2023.

Child Care Reform

For our families, child care is not just a convenience—it is an economic and educational necessity. Joy's commitment to child care reform is rooted in the belief that every child in Nashville deserves a head start and every parent deserves peace of mind.

Support for Seniors

Joy Styles recognizes the importance of supporting our senior citizens. They are the bedrock of our communities! She is dedicated to creating programs and services that address their unique needs while they 'thrive in place'.

Economic Development without Destruction

Bringing retail and business variety to underserved areas is a top priority for Joy Styles. Joy is dedicated to protecting small businesses that are the "fabric of our neighborhoods," while fostering sustainable economic growth that benefits all residents without compromising Nashville's unique character.

A Fair Nashville

Building bridges between Nashville’s diverse cultures and promoting "beautification as equity"— to instill a sense of ownership and pride is important. Everyone deserves to have peace of mind and a high quality of life no matter what part of town that they live in.
